1) I'm interested in joining the USS Asimov. How do I do that?
You can use the Join the USS Asimov form. You can access the form via the Personnel button in the menu to your left. Just click on "Join".
2) Who can become a member of the USS Asimov?
Anyone can join.
3) What is STARFLEET International and do I have to be a member of that organization too to be a member of the USS Asimov?
First STARFLEET international is a international Star Trek fan club dedicated to promoting the ideals of Gene Roddenberry. For more information on STARLEET International please click on the link in the menu. Secondly you do not have to be a member of STARFLEET International to be a member of the USS Asimov. But in order to hold a rank and a position on the ship you do need to be a member of STARFLEET International.
4) What type of memberships do you offer?
- Active Membership: For this membership you need to be a member of STARFLEET International. You must also attend several meetings a year. With this membership package you will receive "The Foundation", the official newsletter of the USS Asimov, a rank, the possibility of holding a position on the ship and the right to vote in any ship matter that needs voting. Dues for this type of membership are $8 annually.
- Correspondence Member: For this membership you need to be a member of STARFLEET International. You do not need to attend any meetings during the year. Which makes this membership great for those that find traveling distances a problem. With this membership package you will receive "The Foundation", the official newsletter of the USS Asimov, and a rank. Dues for this type of membership are $5 annually.
- Associate Member: For this membership you need to be a member of STARFLEET International. This is for people who are already members of another ship in STARFLEET International but wish to also associate themselves with the USS Asimov. With this membership package you will receive "The Foundation", the official newsletter of the USS Asimov. Dues for this type of membership are $5 annually.
- Non-STARFLEET International: For this membership you do not need to be a member of STARFLEET International. With this membership package you will receive " The Foundation", the official newsletter of the USS Asimov. Dues for this type of membership are $15 annually.
5) Do you have to wear a uniform?
A uniform is not required, but having one will help with the overall experience.
6) What type of activities does the USS Asimov participate in?
The USS Asimov participates in several different types of activities. These range from fund raising for various national and local charities to just having plain good old fun. For more details and a schedule of events click on the activities button.
