Welcome to the USS Asimov's Command Department. This department is responsible for commanding the ship, and is headed by the Captain (CO) and the 1st Officer (XO). All departments on the USS Asimov report to the CO. Both the Captain and the XO are responsible for the day to day running of the ship. Salutations and Felicitations! Welcome to the Homepage of the USS Asimov, NCC-1647-A. We are a Chapter of STARFLEET International, A Star Trek Fan Association. As a Chapter, we do many activities both fan related, and real-world related. Fan related, we go to a few conventions every year, most notably Shore Leave and Farpoint. We get together to watch Science Fiction and Fantasy movies, we go to two Live Action Role Playing Star Trek Paintball Games every year, and we join our other Region Seven Chapters for events in the area.
Real-World related we are heavy into charities. For the past four years, we have joined the United States Marine Corps in their Toys-For-Tots campaign, and some of our members are going to the January Polar Bear Plunge in Maryland sponsored by the Maryland State Police to help raise funds for Special Olympics. We are people who care for our community and fellow man, who also happen to be fans of Star Trek and general Science Fiction and Fantasy.

Greetings! Welcome to the USS Asimov's web site. As Command Staff Advisor of the USS Asimov it is my duty to help the CO run the chapter and in certain instances stand in for the CO and XO if they are unable to perform their duties.
As you can see by reading the CO's welcome above the USS Asimov is very active in various charities in and around the area. I have been with the USS Asimov for several years and I have come to enjoy the friendships that have developed through participating in various activities with the other members and with members of other chapters. I have also come to realize that one can have a lot of fun participating in fundraiser's and other functions. Another thing about the USS Asimov that I like is the fact that you don't need to be a really big Star Trek fan to be a member and participate. Most of the members like Star Trek to a degree, but most if not all also like other science fiction shows, books, movies, etc.. Oh and uniforms are optional. All in all the USS Asimov is a great chapter to be a part of.
