IC/IM 2008 Cookie Flight!
Posted 14 April 2008 at 23:20
That's right, a cookie flight. For those of you who do not know, I am a Private Pilot of High Performance and Complex Single Engine, Land based Airplanes. Two years ago, I made a flight to Northampton, MA to buy cookies from the Loose Goose Cafe. These cookies, known as Sugar Jones Cookies, sustain college students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amherst College and the other schools in that general area.
This summer, at IC 2008, I will be offering you a chance to partake of these cookies. I will be flying to Northampton, MA on Friday, June 27th to get these cookies, and as an added bonus, I will have a drawing for a passenger, so if you have always wanted to fly, here is your chance!
The information and the order form can be found at the following link:
http://www.ussasimov.org/documents/IC_08_Cookie_Run.pdf
If you want cookies, get your orders into me by June 13th! That is the Cut-Off!
There is also a weight limit on the cookies, so once I hit the weight limit, I will have to stop taking orders (We should easily be able to do about 100 - 125lbs worth of cookies)
Enjoy!
Farpoint here we come!
Posted 16 February 2008 at 03:38
Several of the USS Asimov's crew will be heading to Farpoint held Feb. 15 -17 in Hunt Valley Maryland. As always a good time is to be expected. The next big event in which some of the crew will participate in is the annual STARFLEET International Convention, which is to be held this June in Ithica NY. Then two weeks after that it is yet again another trek (no pun intended) to Hunt Valley, this time for Shore Leave.
Our Illustrious CO to Brave the Cold Yet Agin!
Posted 02 December 2007 at 11:37
Yet again our CO, Martin Lessem will be participating in the 12th Annual Maryland Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge. Once again Martin will dunk himself in the freezing waters of the Chesapeake Bay. We anticipate much shrinkage, but it is for a good cause. Martin hopes to raise $3000.00 this year. So if you would like to donate please click on the link below which will take you to his donation page.
